Lost in the deep heart of Texas is the newest musical talent to arrive into Austin, let me introduce you to the musical styling’s of Jack Ferrara.
An Arkansas native who grew up in Little Rock, Jack Ferrara made the trek down south to the live music capital in Austin Texas to embark on his musical journey.
The now Austinite singer-songwriter started singing in choir during his childhood days attending a catholic school. It was around the age of 10 that Jack picked up his first guitar and he hasn’t put it down since.
Fast-forward a couple of years, Jack was performing at middle school dances and starting to book shows at some of Little Rock’s prime live music venues. Having performed in many bands during high school as well as working on his solo act Jack was beginning to be accustomed to the life of a working musician.
Jack was building a positive reputation in his small town and was fortunate to gain some solid supporting gigs with ‘Civil Twilight’, ‘The Academy Is’ and ‘The Front Bottoms’. After graduating from high school Jack knew that he’s music career needed a new destination. Austin was already in his sights.
Understanding the meaning of love and having an emotional dynamic, Jack’s inspirations simply came as second nature. Song writing came from the love of the craft itself, which is truly evident in his lyrics. Jack portrays his expressions in his words and takes you on a journey of love, lust and everything in between.
In November of 2014, Jack released his first solo EP ‘Recycling’ with the help of producer Mattie Smith. The songs which came together to create this record stemmed from his past, written earlier in his life but later ‘Recycled’ to create something unique, heartfelt and true to his nature.
The single ‘Bird I See’ taken from the record was written about the death of a close friend, Jack felt the simplest way to deal with his emotions was to put his feelings into words.
Jack Ferrara has just immersed from the studio with his newest single “Passenger Seat” which will be released in June 2015 from his forthcoming EP. Having worked on the track for some time this laid back love song captures your heart and takes you to a place where worries are nothing but a hazy memory.
